The Bristol Old Vic and Birmingham Royal Ballet are amongst organisations to receive a share of £247 million of government funding it has been announced. Cavern Club, London Symphony Orchestra,
Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden described the news as a “vital boost” for The Arts. He added that “It will protect these special places, save jobs and help the culture sector’s recovery.”
Bristol Old Vic will receive £610k, with Birmingham Royal Ballet securing £500k and the London Symphony Orchestra £846k. Other venues receiving essential funds include London’s Wigmore Hall (£1m) and the Young Vic (£961k).
