The hotly anticipated 2020 Tony Award nominations have just been announced. Probably the happiest man in the world right now is Aaron Tveit, star of Moulin Rouge and in what is just the latest twist of fate in this oddest of years, he has just won the Tony for Best Actor in a Musical…because there are no other nominees!
We’re not saying he wouldn’t have won anyway – in fact anyone lucky enough to see his performance in Moulin Rouge would probably have handed him the award right then and there – but it’s probably one of those facts you’d do well to remember for a Musical Theatre quiz in twenty years time!
